Title: “The Power of God” | Hebrews 4:12-13 |
A minister once shared with me that when the true gospel is taught, people will do one of two things: they will either run toward Jesus or run away from Him. This painting goes beyond these two women. It shows the power of God as His word reveals our true nature. The impurities and the sins that are exposed as Scripture says “Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight.” It’s not about becoming better versions of ourselves. It’s about being transformed into the likeness of Jesus that reflects His grace, love, and righteousness. Jesus said, “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners” (Mark 2:17). You are being called because you are a sinner in need of saving. God has been drawing you to Jesus that leads you on a path of repentance and healing as you fully acknowledge the God of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and call on the Lord’s name. May you stop fighting, and surrender to the calling.

Title: “Train Them Up” | Proverbs 22:6 |
Most viewers who see this painting often speak of the eyes - they say it feels as if the eyes of these three girls are looking directly at them. In fact, they are looking at you. These girls are just like the children you encounter daily - children who mimic the behavior of what they see around them. This serves as a reminder that our actions as adults, especially as believers of Christ, set an example for the next generation. When we walk in the way of the Lord, we model a life of faith that they will carry with them as they grow older. When we train them up in the way of the Lord, we teach them to know and obey God. We have the great privilege of pointing them to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Title: “Lost” | Luke 15:3-7 |
When I created this piece, my initial intention was to broaden the concept of “missing” to include not only those who are physically missing but also those who are emotionally and mentally absent. This includes individuals who are battling with emotional or mental health challenges like depression and anxiety and those who may feel overwhelmed by life’s demands with constantly feeling like they are falling behind and unable to get ahead. Unfortunately, we often overlook the subtle signs of emotional distress until they escalate into a full-blown crisis. In most cases, these internal struggles often lead to thoughts of suicide or actual suicide attempts. Over the past two decades, there has been a concerning trend of increasing suicide rates among Black girls and women. Data from the CDC’s National Center for Health Statistics database reveals a significant rise in these numbers. In 1999, 289 Black girls and women between the ages of 15 to 84 died by suicide, whereas in 2020, the figure increased to 652. This is the reality of individuals who have lost all hope.
As I grow closer to Christ, I realize the importance of a solid spiritual foundation, which is why I want to urge you to think about your own spiritual foundation as you navigate through life. I have learned that when your spiritual foundation is shaky, it affects all areas of your life, including your emotional and mental well-being. Where is your source of hope? Is it in the God of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ or in man? Many have spiritually disconnected themselves from the life of obedience, often due to church hurt, having a lack of devotion to God, and worldly influences that have distorted their sense of identity. This has resulted in confusion and deception. Additionally, many have been influenced by false teachings that lead them to forming a different understanding of God than what is made known to us in Scripture.
As believers, guided by the Holy Spirit, we are called to walk with those who have lost their way. Let us help our sisters and brothers in Christ to gain a clearer understanding of their condition according to Scripture, that will lead them to Christ as He is the only one who can cure the problem. We rejoice in witnessing a genuine repentance as they turn back to Jesus, getting the restoration and the hope that they seek.

Title: A Storm Is Coming
Heavenly Father,
Thank you for revealing the mystery of who you are to believers. You opened our eyes and now we don’t have to live in wonder. We don’t need to say that you are a mystery or that you work in mysterious ways because you have revealed yourself to us through Christ. So in this moment, as in every moment, my eyes are on you. A storm is coming. The wind has started to pick up. The clouds are quickly covering the sky with its darkness. Father, you have prepared me for this very moment. You opened my eyes to see what was happening in front of me. You spoke specific instructions to my heart that commanded my obedience. And I obeyed. I showed up where the Holy Spirit led me, and I spoke only the words from you. And now, the storm is near. I don’t know how bad it’s going to get. What parts will be destroyed? What will remain? I’ve endured many storms before, each one is different than the last - though I did learn from each of them, so I know as long as my eyes are on you, I’ll come out stronger and wiser in the Lord. It’s not easy going through these storms. I lean on you for understanding, peace, comfort, strength, and guidance. In Jesus name. Amen.

Title: Submission to God | 1 Corinthians 11:3 |
Today, the husband came home to his wife breastfeeding their newborn while glancing over at their oldest daughter, who peeks at her from the side. The youngest daughter has paused her playful mess just as she hears the sound of the front door unlocking. As the husband steps into this warm and nurturing atmosphere, he felt the daily reminder of his commitment to lead with love and submit to God in all that he does.
In this sacred space, they embrace a life not of balance, but of obedience to God. Scripture instructs that wives should submit to their husbands as to the Lord, while husbands are to love their wives just as Christ loved the church and sacrificed himself for her (Ephesians 5:22-33). This mutual act of submission is the key function to their marriage. Furthermore, Scripture outlines a spiritual covenant that establishes the hierarchy of authority - the head of the woman is man, the head of man is Christ, and the head of Christ is God (1 Corinthians 11:3). This structure doesn’t imply that women are inferior, but highlights the spiritual covering of the woman and her devotion to align with the word of God. In this divine order, both individuals surrender under Christ’s authority, operating as one - bone of bone and flesh of flesh (Genesis 2:23).

Title: God’s Field | 1 Corinthians 3:1 - 9 |
The apostle Paul writes in his first letter to the church in Corinth about the divisions among believers. He speaks to their quarreling and jealousy as signs of their worldly nature. He highlights how misplaced loyalty to specific faith leaders can lead to discord within the body of Christ. He poses the question, “What, after all, is Apollos? And what is Paul?” He then goes to say, “Only servants through whom you came to believe - as the Lord has assigned to each his task.” The apostle Paul emphasizes that by the grace of God, while he may have planted the seed and Apollos watered it, it is ultimately God who makes it grow.
This message resonates deeply with the reality that, regardless of who you may choose to follow, all pastors and teachers - those who claim to be called by God - are merely workers in His field. They are put in those positions by God. They are to “prepare God’s people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ” (Ephesians 4:12-13).
It’s important that we concentrate on this shared assignment. Whether we are called to plant or to water, it is for God’s glory. Our commitment should be to His will, not to the individuals who are called to those positions by God. As you may have witnessed in your own experience that some of those individuals started off doing the Lord’s work, but then somewhere along their walk, their hearts turned away. I pray that your eyes remain open to God’s will, because in doing so, we honor the true nature of our calling as a unified body as we strive towards maturity in faith and love in preparation for the second coming of Christ.

Title: Freedom | Romans 6:15 - 23 |
Before Jesus bowed his head and surrendered his spirit on the cross, he declared, “It is finished” (John 19:30).
In the beginning, God created everything in six days and rested on the seventh, stating all of it to be good. He placed Adam and Eve, the first humans made in his image, in the Garden of Eden. However, sin entered this perfect garden through Adam’s disobedience, bringing both a physical and spiritual death to all humanity. As a result, every person born after Adam inherits this sin nature. Scripture confirms this in Genesis 5:3, which states, “When Adam had lived 130 years, he had a son in his own likeness, in his own image; and he named him Seth.” The apostle Paul provides further confirmation in his letter to the Romans, stating, “Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all men, because all sinned” (5:12). So, we transition from Adam, made in the image of God, to the fall of man, leading to destruction.
In earlier times, God spoke to our ancestors - Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob and other prophets about the coming Messiah, who would offer salvation for all who believe in him. The letter to the Romans continues to say, “For just as through disobedience of the one man the many were made sinners, so also through the obedience of the one man the many will be made righteous” (5:19). This man’s name is Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who is identified as the Son of Man and the Son of God in Scripture. In the Gospel of Matthew, he writes, “just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many” (20:28). While on earth, Jesus lived a sinless life (2 Corinthians 5:21), ministered to people about the good news of the kingdom of heaven, healed the sick, blind, deaf, and lame; and performed miracles. All of this was leading up to the appointed time of his crucifixion (John 12:23 - 26). Jesus took on our sin and endured the punishment we deserved. The blood he shed covers all who believe as we were bought with his blood to cleanse us making us righteous in the way of the Lord. Therefore, when Jesus said, “It is finished,” he marked the completion of the fulfillment of prophecies, he redeemed those who believe and reconciled us to God through him. Through Christ, we are reborn. In him, we are no longer slaves to sin but of obedience, leading to righteousness.
The joyful sound that opens our hearts to be in alignment with a Holy God.
The Holy Spirit fills our being as we dance to a new tune surrendering to Jesus’ lordship over our bodies.
We lift up holy hands wherever we are to worship God in the name of Jesus.
For we are rescued.
We are redeemed.
Hallelujah!
